Setting Up An External Camera (Hypno Air)

Equipment for Hypno Air
Required:
iPad Pro 2018 or 2019, 11" or 12.9" with LTE
Camera with clean HDMI or SDI Out
HDMI or SDI Cable

Configuring the Teradek Cube 755
Power on Teradek
Navigate to the Teradek Web Interface
a. With a laptop or tablet, connect the Cube's WiFi network (Teranet-XXXXXX)
b. In a web browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.), visit http://172.16.1.1
c. You will be asked to set a password
Basic Teradek Configuration
a. Required:
System >> Password: hypno
Video Stream Output (Streaming Setup) >> Primary >> Mode: "Live:Air"
Network Interfaces >> WiFi >> Modify >> Channel: Wifi band: Auto (5GHz Range Only)
b. Recommended
WiFi Channel: Auto
Color Management: Original Signal

Setting the iPad to Connect to the Teradek
Once you've run a test script (see iPad Onboarding), triple tap the button on top of the iPad and enter your passcode to return to the hidden Hypno App settings. a. Navigate to the middle screen in Settings b. 3-Finger Swipe up to access the hidden section (additional 3-Finger Swipes on settings area to move further down or up in Settings)
Adjust key settings a. Face detection: Off b. Countdown: Off c. Teradek >> Teradek: On, Rotate: On, and Aspect Fill: On d. (Optional) Volume shutter: On
Capturing Video
Turn on Camera + Teradek
Connect iPad to Teranet-XXXXXX
Open HYPNO iPad app
To Enter Camera → Triple-Click button on top of iPad
To Exit Camera → Triple-Click button on top of iPad
To Capture → Tap screen once
Troubleshooting
iPad Displays iPad Camera
Ensure iPad wifi is connected to Teradek network
Ensure all other camera protocols are of
Aux » Off
Satellite » Off
Multicam » Off
Ensure Teradek Cube Video Stream Output is set to Live:Air
iPad Displays Color Bars
Teradek is not getting a video signal
Ensure HDMI or SDI cable is correctly plugged into Teradek and camera
Ensure camera is on
Ensure HDMI or SDI output is turned on in Camera Settings
Poor Video Quality
Ensure iPad has line-of-sight to Teradek and is within range
Ensure Teradek WiFi is set to “5GHz only” setting
Access the Teradek Cube web interface
Go to Network Interfaces section
Expand WiFi section
Make sure network is set to a “5GHz only” setting
Try a different wifi channel
Access the Teradek Cube web interface
Go to Network Interfaces section
Expand WiFi section
Video Color is Incorrect
Ensure a Lut isn’t being applied by the Teradek Cube
Access the Teradek Cube web interface
Go to the “Color Management” section
Select “Original Signal” at the top
